Will not work with XP SP-2, tried everything to no avail. Google the problems with Bluetooth adapters.
I purchased this USB dongle and plugged it into the front of my computer. I am using headphones within 3 feet of the computer. Amazingly, the audio cuts out. I am guessing that the signal from this little dongle is easily overpowered by EMI as the cutouts seem related to computer activity.
Acceptable range, like other people said it "just works" and has excellent Linux compatibility (tested with CentOS 5.3 and OpenSuSE 10.3 through 11.2). The only complaint I have about it at all is that it's TOO small. The plastic protrudes out of the USB connector less than 1/2", so I either need to fiddle with it for a minute to unplug it, or need to actually use a set of pliers to remove it.Also, I need to put it in a CD case in my laptop bag or else it gets lost.
It even found a device that was in the kitchen, which is all the way across the house from my computer. I purchased this to replace the USB dongle that came with my logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. I plugged it in to the usb and my computer found the driver and within the next few minutes I had my keyboard, mouse, phone, and headset connected. It has great range and connectivity, my logitech mouse actually operates smoother with this usb than it did with the original. I will be purchasing another for my laptop and for my printer, also, the small size makes it very convenient.
Works great, usually no need to install the drivers that come with it if you are using a reasonably modern version of Windows or Linux including Win7 and Vista. Good price and very small size make it a winner, I am using for a mouse, keyboard and connections to a Blackberry for sync purposes. All work great. In many cases the included drivers will break connectivity so be sure to try your devices with native drivers first, use the disk as a last resort or on older systems that cannot detect the adapter.
